Submission Guidelines:
General Information
All material submitted for consideration in Aquatics magazine will be reviewed by the editor for application to the magazine and its readers. Upon acceptance, the editor will contact the author(s) to discuss the use of the material in the magazine. If your contribution was submitted electronically you should receive a reply from the editor within two weeks. If you have not received a reply within this time frame, please contact the editor directly to verify electronic receipt. The FAPMS web page (www.fapms.org) should be checked regularly for editorial announcements, changes, or updates.
Articles
Articles should be submitted to the editor by email or through the FAPMS web page before the posted submittal deadlines. Electronic text should be formatted in MS Word or WordPerfect. Tables, figures, and charts should be formatted in MS EXCEL, ACCESS, or formatted as a full-page picture. All material should include name, company/organization, phone number, mailing address, and email.
Photographs
Photographs may be submitted as prints, slides, or digital media. If photographs are submitted as part of a manuscript, please be sure the photographs are labeled and referenced in the manuscript. All photographs submitted for the cover page should list photographer's name, company/organization, contact information, and provide a description of the photograph (where, when, comments).
Photographic Prints and Slides
All prints and slides submitted will be returned the quarter following the publication print date unless otherwise noted by the photographer. Original slides are preferred but duplicate slides will be accepted for photographs one half page or less.
Digital Media
Digital photographs should be taken in 300dpi resolution or higher. Standard digital camera photographs saved as "jpg" (approximately 80K file size) will be accepted but are only practical for thumbnail size pictures within articles. Digital media from cell phones will be accepted if they are clear and meet the minimum resolution.
